Lead Gen Idea #5 (Lead Magnets)

Lead Magnets are a very important part of the funnel. They are what helps you capture leads (and then your email flows nurture them).

They are so important because more leads = more clients, and if you double your leads, you will typically double your clients, etc.

These will provide you with a basic plan-of-action that you can try and implement within 24 hours or less.

  1. A lead magnet is something valuable (document, PDF, video, etc. ) that you trade for their contact information (name, email, phone, website, etc.) This is the essence of lead generation.

  2. You need lead magnets because without them, people have no reason/ability to give you their contact information, and you need their contact information to be able to market to them.

  3. You need to have many lead magnets (typically 6-12), not just one. The reason for this is because you need a lead magnet to solve every problem/step/objection that has to do with your service.

  4. Each lead magnet you make should solve one problem completely. It should be so in-depth and thorough and valuable that the person reading it has no choice but to view you as an expert. It should be "too good to fail."

  5. People don't even want to do it (your service) themselves. They just want to know that you know what you are doing. If you can convince them of this, they will hire you. If you don't, they won't.

  6. You need to transfer every single piece of knowledge, experience, skills, etc. from your mind, to your lead magnet. Your target market cannot read your mind. If your lead magnet is basic, they will assume you are basic and won't hire you.

  7. Although lead magnets are typically free, you need to ask yourself honestly, "would I pay at least $50 for this?" If they answer is no, it is not good enough.

  8. All lead magnets should have a plan of action that can be done within 24 hours. If they start to take your advice and it works, they will be more likely to hire you.

  9. It doesn't matter how valuable and actionable your lead magnet is if it is not readable. You need to stick to one idea + one graphic per slide. This will increase readability by 1000% and make it easy to consume.

  10. You will promote your lead magnets through paid ads and content. You run ads/post content with the link to your lead magnet landing page which has a form and once they submit the form ,they get the email delivering the lead magnets, and now you are nurturing them
